Cathy Barnett, Instructional Support Specialist

Greetings, East Flora Family! I am thrilled to join this incredible team as your new Instructional Support Specialist.

With 21 years in education, my journey has been fueled by a passion for diverse learning needs and classroom excellence. I spent 16 years with the Jackson Public School District, serving in the following roles: Special Education teacher, 3rd-grade teacher, Interventionist, Literacy Coach, and Assistant Principal.

My path also led me to the Mississippi Department of Education in the Office of Special Education and Early Childhood.  Prior to coming to EFE I spent the last 2.5 years at the district level in the Office of Special Services.

While my work at the state and district levels provided a broad perspective, I am thrilled to be back on the school level where I can directly support the magic that happens in classrooms daily. I am here to support our teachers and empower our students as we work together to increase proficiency and growth for all students.
